Unfortunately, all transactions with Localcoin are final and non-refundable once processed [see Localcoin's Terms of Service §2, 3 and 13].
Understanding how Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies work will help you understand our role and duty as a company that provides crypto-asset services. Firstly, Bitcoin transactions are completely irreversible and cannot be retrieved once sent. Unlike traditional systems (i.e. Visa/Mastercard), payments to merchants, and bank transfers, (wire/e-Transfer), cryptocurrency transactions cannot be frozen or disputed as the Bitcoin network does not have any central controlling mechanism. You can reference the article "Some things you need to know" for further information.
Furthermore, cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible and near-untraceable. They are not linked to a personal identity or location - online or offline. Therefore, unless you know the contact details of the recipient of the QR code which you scanned, there are no means to recover the funds. It is always highly advised that customers carefully verify their Bitcoin addresses before beginning any transaction by cross-referencing both their wallet and the one displayed on-screen.
With regards to obtaining a refund, any transaction that was successfully processed is irreversible, Localcoin cannot retrieve the funds. Localcoin is therefore unable to provide a refund. For more information about our refund policy, please refer to §13 of Localcoin's Terms of Service here.
